Disney World is arguably the main reason why the city of Orlando gets up to 75 million visitors a year. And it’s not surprising if most of those people will eventually go for a pizza after all that Disney excitement.
After all, Americans love pizza. It’s estimated that every single second sees the consumption of 350 pizza slices in the US.
The good news is that Orlando has lots of great pizza parlors that you can visit when you want to take a break from all those rides and attractions. For great pizza in Orlando, try the following parlors:
Giordano’s
First of all, you’re getting genuine vintage pizza. The recipe for the Giordano’s stuffed pizza can be traced back to 200 years ago, and it first came out in a tiny town in northern Italy. Then Italian immigrants came to the US with their recipe for the stuffed pizza, introducing it to Americans with the first Giordano’s in the south side of Chicago.
The Giordano’s near Disney World in Orlando offers that Old World flavor, and now you can get it conveniently as well. Giordano’s offers delivery services to all the major resorts in the area, and they also offer salads and starters.
Villa Italiano Chophouse
This is one of the best pizza parlors in Orlando, with their unique house-made recipes and insistence on fresh ingredients. Their simple margherita pizza is absolute perfection for purists, as you get fresh garlic, basil, olive oil, and fire-roasted tomatoes. They’re then topped with seasoned ricotta cheese and fresh mozzarella.
That’s just one of the great pizzas on the menu, and that menu contains many more excellent choices besides pizza. They even have about 90 wines available, and they’re great for the chicken parmesan, veal piccata, pan-seared salmon balsamico, and the parmesan-crusted filet of beef.
The Pizza Press
Here, you can visit, design your own pizza, and then enjoy the slices fresh off the press. Their ingredients are all fresh and premium-grade, so no worries. And if you want, you can just get any of their signature pizzas, along with some wings and salads to go with the rotating craft beers on tap.
Broadway Pizza Bar
Here you can design your own New York-style pizza. The dough is made from scratch, and the ingredients are always fresh. You have more than 20 signature pizzas to pick from, including the marvelous Mexican that features ground beef with black olives, tomatoes, and jalapeños, along with mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
Or, you can try the Prosciutto Pie. It features the salty prosciutto ham plus lots of spicy arugula, along with mozzarella. It’s magic!
There are wraps, salads, pastas, wings, calzones, and soups on the meu, along with an extensive range of wines and beers.
Mulino New York
This is the Disney location of that legendary NYC bistro, which Zagat considers one of the best restaurants in the city for years now. You only have 4 signature pies to pick from, so you won’t have to be overwhelmed with too many choices.
While the Bosco, Rustica, and Margherita pies are terrific, try the Bianca if you’re a vegetarian. It features roasted garlic with ricotta cream, fresh oregano, rosemary olive oil, and aged provolone cheese.
