It’s true that when it comes to water parks all over the world, the US is a great place to visit. Heck, Florida has Disney World, and that place has fantastic water parks such as Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach.
But for those in the know, China is also one of the premier holiday destinations when the entire family simply loves water parks. The country has terrific water parks that might just make your family forget all about the Great Wall.
Here are some water parks in China that are truly worth a visit or two—or a dozen!
Chimelong Water Park, Guangzhou
This water park opened in 2007, and it only took a few years for the place to become the most popular water park in the world. By 2019, it was attracting more than 3 million visitors per year.
That’s not surprising, considering the many colorful slides and tubing rides that kids absolutely love. There’s also the new family-friendly play and climbing area known as the Rock Wheel. Add the dance and music performances, and it’s a place for the entire family to enjoy.
Once you’re here, you have got to try the one-of-a-kind SlideWheel. There’s the FusionFortress that’s basically a mini-waterpark in itself, along with the world’s first uphill water coaster known as the Master Blaster.
Wuhu Fantawild Water Park, Wuhu
With more than 1.3 million visitors entertained in 2019, this isn’t exactly where you can find boredom easily. This has more than 15 themed attractions (count ‘em) spread all over, you’ll have your own share of sci-fi adventure fun to experience. You do have to have some stamina for exploration, as the whole park covers 1,250 square kilometers. That’s 482 square miles of fun, compared to the measly 43 square miles for Disney World.
If you have young kids, then you’ll want to get them to this special playground right away, where there are water cannons, water guns, and floating bridges. There’s a lazy river as well, along with the Boonie Bear Village.
Wuhan Maya Beach Water Park, Wuhan
The place attracted a lot of crowds (and a lot of criticism) when it opened back in 2020 in the middle of the pandemic crisis. But now that the crisis has toned down significantly, you can visit here with a clear conscience.
The place has always been popular, as it regularly attracts up to 1.2 million visitors a year. this is simply a perfect party place for the entire family.
Aquaventure Atlantis, Sanya
Here, the main focus is under the water. The themed areas include the terrific Lost Chambers Aquarium and Aquaventure Waterpark, and everything is just fascinating.
You’ll go through the “rediscovered” Lost City of Atlantis when you visit the Lost Chambers Aquarium, and this will have you going through more than 30 different exhibits. These include species tanks, hand-painted murals, huge ornate columns, and various artifacts.
Plus, you have 280 different species and 86,000 marine animals! That’s just the start of your adventure, and there are more adventures to follow.
