When you’re absolutely nuts for roller coasters, it’s not enough that a theme park has just one or two roller coasters for you to try out. Even if they’re among the absolute best in the world, the experience can get tiresome after a while. What you probably want is an entire set of excellent roller coasters.
And that’s the list you get here. All the theme parks listed here feature at least a dozen roller coasters, and some of them have a whole lot more:
Six Flags Magic Mountain in California
Six Flags Magic Mountain is one of the most heavenly places in all the world, for those on a spiritual quest to find the best roller coasters in the world. With 20 different roller coasters in just one park, it will take a very long while before you get tired of it all.
The 20th roller coaster in its list is the single-rail Wonder Woman of Courage, and it sure is a marvel. And that’s in addition to the hybrid Twisted Colossus, which many regard as the absolutely best roller coaster in America. You still have X2, which is among the scariest coasters in the world, and the world’s first 4th-dimension roller coaster.
And if these aren’t enough, you also have the famous Tatsu plus the Superman: The Escape coaster, which gets you to 100 mph.
Energylandia in Poland
This park isn’t as famous among Americans, and part of the reason for this is that it’s in Poland. But it ought to be, considering that they have 19 roller coasters in the area.
The Mayan coaster is fantastic, with 5 inversions that gets you to 5 G-force. That’s like flying in an F-16 while you’re 10 stories up in the air, reaching speeds of about 50 mph.
There’s also the aptly named Speed coaster, which gets you up to about 70 mph while you’re 20 stories up in the air. And you’ll feel 3g forces on you as well.
Canada’s Wonderland, just outside Toronto
Frequently apologetic the Canadians may be, but they’re not sorry for having 17 roller coasters in this place. At Canada’s Wonderland, you’ll find an absolutely huge hyper coaster named the Behemoth. And if that’s not enough, you still have the Leviathan, which is an even larger Giga-coaster and widely considered as among the best roller coasters in the world.
And for some variety, there’s the new dive coaster known as the Yukon Striker. You should also try out the Wonder Mountain’s Guardian, which is like a shooter’s game in the dark as you ride along.
Cedar Point in Ohio
It’s not surprising that this theme park is here, since it calls itself “The Roller Coaster Capital of the World”. Big words, but they sure can back it up, starting with the fact that they have 16 roller coasters here that can get your blood pumping.
These rides include such legendary coasters as Top Thrill Dragster, Millennium Force, Magnum XL-200, Maverick, and the fantastic Steel Vengeance.
It’s not just the number of the coasters here that will excite you. It’s the sheer brilliance and premium quality of many of the rides that’ll make for an unforgettable roller coaster experience.
Six Flags Great America near Chicago, Illinois
This (Six Flags) has 15 roller coasters, and one of the is the Goliath. This ride opened in 2014 as the tallest, steepest, and fastest wooden roller coaster at the time. It’s still terrific enough that it’s generally considered among the 10 best roller coasters in the entire world.
Add the Vertical Velocity impulse coaster and the X-Flight wild wing coaster, and this is a must-visit park for coaster junkies!
